Baixar PDFObjective: To analyze young people's discourses on environmental health and arboviruses through a web radio, establishing an interlocution between environmental health and the occurrence of diseases.
Theoretical Reference: Discussing the topic with young people promotes reflection on the various outcomes of the health conditions of individuals and populations, which contributes to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (2015).
Method: A qualitative study, carried out between 2023 and 2025, through an online radio with 25 young people from public schools in the state of Ceará, Brazil. Anchor questions left on the station's message boards and social networks were used. Data interpretation was structured based on Bardin's discourse analysis (2016).
Results and Discussion: Three categories were identified: 1) Youth Perceptions of Health and the Environment; 2) Arboviruses: Prevention and Care; 3) Human Interventions and the Impact on the Occurrence of Arboviruses. The discussion on the study reinforces the idea that the interaction between the themes is incipient in the school world. However, it has been shown that young people are aware of the epidemiological relationship with the occurrence of arboviruses.
Research Implications: Strategies that reach out to young people, using digital technology such as web radio as a vehicle for health promotion, stimulate social participation and strengthen prevention and control actions in the context studied.
Originality/Value: This study has helped to encourage research on the subject with young people, so that this audience can act in prevention and collaborate in building greater environmental awareness.
